Has anyone been riding the Spec area over the past few days and have trail reports to share?

On Wednesday i took the advice of the leader of the ilsnow nation and took the day off. i rode from the Powley rd. up to speculator. Ran over oxbow and up through Perkins clearing and the tree tract before returning. Groomers were out and the trails were great! In an 80 mile trip i only passed 16 sleds. Well worth the trip!

Thanks for the update. Wish I could have ridden before the warm and rain. Hopefully it won't do too much damage and I'll give it a try this weekend.

Same here. The weather had made me busier at work so there's a new sled in the trailer that hasn't been ridden at all. Finally had time Friday thru this weekend to ride and it all went to heck!

As far as trail updates go, I noticed there hasn't been any trail reports/conditions updates on Facebook pages this season so far like years past. For drag. I wonder if they are doing that anymore?

I did see they added a spot to thier website but not really seen much there either.

Lots of standing water and flooded trails. In spectacular river trail flooded, route 30 trail from wells flooded bat trail thing and areas are flooded. The rain only stopped aro 4am today and we got about 4 inches of powder. Cold now but will take a few days for the water to drain and freeze.

River trail and cave hill are still very flooded. The will take quite a while to dry out.

Rode down Fawn Lake trail as far as Clay Vly. All froze up and passable, but lots of icy rough spots. Rode part way from Sacandaga to Oxbow. Passable but in really rough shape. Lots of ice and frozen mud and some water still flowing.

Wife read on face book that a snowmobiler had to be rescued by air boat this week end from the river trail behind the fire company in Spectacular.
Also on face book. The Oxbow to Sacandaga trail is full of frozen mud holes and Oxbow Lake is open right where the trail goes on. I know there are springs there and told the people last Saturday that they were lucky to get on the ice at all.
