Going riding on the reports found here on ILSNOW paid off once again! :D
We had planned as an option of riding at Tug Hill if conditions did not look favorable in Perkins. Glad we hit Speculator trails again!

We dropped at a follow Frontier Sno Rider's camp on Oxbow Lake about 10am. Mike and Brian bring their sleds off. Mike was a Ski-Doo rider for the day!

A pre-ride group shot. Sort of a Frontier club ride, all members, 4 of which are board members.

HM112 junction, C4 and S82C. Word from two riders who stopped coming from Indian Lake was that there was bare ground and rough trail in that direction. We decided not to head toward Mason Lake.

We stopped and took pictures of the PB 200 at the Rt 30 highway crossing. Our club is looking at another groomer purchase, just not this big. ;)

Next was short trip over bumpy trail to the Melody Lodge for lunch. fogexp and company soon arrived as well.

From the Melody we headed into the Tree Farm. We found this trailside cookout on old Rt30. Actually a burn down, maybe last weekend?

HM115 junction. Back up into Perkins after making a number a runs through the Tree Farm. Watch out for icy turns on the Mud Lake Rd, will collect you if not careful.

HM6 on C4/8, flat and fast.

Time to head back to Oxbow, we found Fawn Lake Trail, C4, in top shape! Watch for very crusty ice ruts on the lakes.

Before reaching Oxbow we met up with the DEC Officer again.

We took a break and discussed the days ride and loud cans. :-|

While we had worries of overheating issues, no one in our group did. I did manage to slightly melt a little hyfax crossing Oxbow and stopped too quickly, luckily we got it freed up.

Great riding, get it while you can!
Joel
